01Wellbeing mentoring
Wellbeing mentoring provides a supportive space to pause, reflect and explore your wellbeing, personal development and changes you may want to make in your life.
Sessions may include reflection, education, goal-setting, self-awareness, self-connection, stress and overwhelm management, grounding, confidence, boundaries, life transitions and practical wellbeing approaches.
You remain responsible for your own choices and decisions. My role is to support your exploration, offer information and perspectives, and help you identify steps that are meaningful to you.
My UK counselling and psychotherapy training forms part of my professional background. However, when I work with you through this international service, I am providing wellbeing mentoring and not counselling or psychotherapy.
02What this service is not
Wellbeing mentoring is not counselling, psychotherapy, diagnosis or treatment of a mental or physical health condition, and it is not a crisis or emergency service.
I will not diagnose a condition, prescribe medication, provide medical treatment or act as your healthcare provider.
If your needs fall outside the scope of wellbeing mentoring, I may recommend that you seek appropriate professional or healthcare support in your country.
03Who the service is for
This service is for adults aged 18 and over. You must be able to make your own decision to enter into this agreement.
You must tell me the country in which you are physically located when receiving the service. If you travel, move country or regularly join sessions from another country, please tell me. I may need to pause or end the service if the change creates a legal, professional, insurance, safety or practical concern.
Awaken Discovery offers this service internationally, but no wording in this agreement can override the laws or requirements of the country in which you are located.
04Our sessions
Sessions are normally 60 minutes and take place online at an agreed time. We will agree the focus of each session together. You can bring what feels relevant to you and the focus can change as your circumstances change.
The work is collaborative. I will offer questions, information, perspectives and practical wellbeing approaches, but I will not tell you what you should do. Your choices remain your own.
I aim to provide a respectful, welcoming and non-judgemental space where you can be yourself. Your identity, values, experiences, choices and circumstances will be respected.
05Online sessions
- Please make sure you have a reasonably private place where you can speak freely.
- You are responsible for having a suitable device and internet connection.
- Please do not record a session unless this has been discussed and agreed in advance.
- If technology fails, we will use an agreed alternative where possible or rearrange the session.
- Please let me know if you cannot maintain privacy during a session.
06Confidentiality
What you share with me is treated as confidential. I will not normally share what you tell me without your permission.
Confidentiality is not absolute. Information may need to be shared where required or authorised by law, or where there is a serious concern about harm or another situation where disclosure is legally or professionally justified. I will normally discuss this with you first where it is safe and appropriate to do so.
Because you are receiving the service outside the UK, laws relating to confidentiality and disclosure may differ depending on where you are located. I cannot promise absolute confidentiality where the law requires information to be disclosed.
I may discuss aspects of my professional work in supervision or professional consultation. I take care to protect your identity and only share information that is appropriate and necessary.
07Your information and privacy
I keep appropriate information needed to provide the service and manage my practice, which may include your contact details, booking and payment information and relevant notes from our work.
Your information is handled in accordance with applicable UK data-protection requirements, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, together with any other requirements that apply to the way I provide the service.
Further information about what I collect, why I use it, how it is stored, who may have access to it, international data transfers and your rights is set out in theAwaken Discovery Privacy Notice, available through the website footer or on request.
I keep information securely and only for as long as there is a professional, legal, insurance or other legitimate reason to do so. When information is no longer required, it will be securely deleted or destroyed where appropriate.
08AI and digital tools
I use a small number of digital tools to support the running of Awaken Discovery, including Microsoft Word, OneDrive, Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT. These may be used for general writing, administration, business activities, education and professional development.
Your confidentiality is important to me. I do not put your personal information, anything you share with me, notes from our work or other identifiable client information into AI tools to analyse, summarise, rewrite or create content from it. AI is not used to make decisions about your wellbeing mentoring.
AI does not replace professional judgement, supervision or our work together. If you use AI yourself alongside wellbeing mentoring, you are welcome to bring anything you have found or created into a session and we can explore it together.
09Your wellbeing and urgent situations
This is not a crisis or emergency service and I do not provide emergency monitoring between sessions.
You are responsible for knowing how to access urgent or emergency support where you live. If you are in immediate danger, seriously unwell, at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or need urgent mental-health or medical help, contact the appropriate emergency, crisis, medical or healthcare service in your country.
If I become concerned during a session that you need a level of support that this service cannot safely provide, I may recommend that you contact an appropriate local professional or service and may pause or end the mentoring relationship.
10Contact between sessions
Contact between sessions is normally limited to practical matters such as appointments, payments and arrangements. I am not available as an ongoing support or crisis contact between sessions.

12Cancellations and missed sessions
If you have already booked and decide that you no longer want the service, you can cancel by letting me know as soon as possible. Any statutory cancellation or refund rights that apply will still apply.
For individual sessions, please give at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange.
If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, 50% of the session fee will be retained. If you do not attend your session and do not contact me, the full session fee will be retained.
If I need to cancel a session, I will give you as much notice as possible and offer an alternative appointment or refund any payment due for a session that has not taken place.
Package bookings are subject to the terms provided when you purchase them.
13Ending the mentoring relationship
You can choose to end the service at any time. Where appropriate, I encourage you to let me know so that we can bring the work to a clear and useful ending.
I may end the service if I believe it is no longer appropriate, your needs fall outside the scope of wellbeing mentoring, there are concerns about safety or professional boundaries, or there is another legitimate reason to do so. Where appropriate, I will explain this and suggest more suitable support.
